Larisa Ciortan (born July 13, 1990 in Resita, Romania), known professionally as Aris, is a Romanian singer-songwriter. Her love for music was founded during her childhood as she grew up listening to Queen, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and many others. At the age of 7 she started studying the piano at “Sabin Pautza” High School of Art Resita after which she started taking vocal lessons with focus on classical music at the Popular School of Arts Reșița where she graduated becoming the youngest student ever to finish opera classes and also pop music with her mother – Gina Tanase who was also a singer and her vocal coach till date.
