Raised in Calgary, Alberta, McRae first rose to prominence as a finalist on the American television show So You Think You Can Dance at just thirteen, showcasing her exceptional dance abilities. Following her TV success, she began sharing original songs and covers on YouTube, quickly gaining a large following for her unique voice and emotive performances. In 2020, McRae's breakthrough single, "you broke me first," achieved worldwide success, charting internationally and solidifying her as a rising star in pop music.
