About Paprika

Hailing from Romania, Serbia and UK, the London based Paprika unites traditional Eastern European, Balkan, Gypsy and classical music. Under the name Paprika Balkanicus, the band toured extensively across the Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Japan, featuring regularly at the WOMAD Festivals in UK, Spain, Canary Islands, Abu Dhabi and WOMADelaide. Highlights included concerts at Royal Festival Hal...l Ballroom, Royal Albert Hall, Sydney Opera House, Glastonbury Festival, Edinburgh Fringe and Serbia’s international EXIT festival. As graduates of the Royal Academy of Music and Berklee College of Music, they have collectively performed at the Wigmore Hall, in presence of The HRH Princess Royal, worked with Nigel Kennedy, Gabriel Yared and won numerous prizes at international competitions including the BBC/Guardian Composition Competition. Since touring the world in 2008-9, the band has developed both its line-up and repertoire, focusing on bringing rare and lost traditional Balkan repertoire back to life by performing their inspiring new arrangements alongside original compositions.
