80s

80s80s NDW focuses on Neue Deutsche Welle, the German new wave and post-punk movement that defined the 1980s. Broadcasting from Germany, the station plays pioneering NDW artists including DAF, Ideal, Peter Schilling, and Rheingold alongside new wave and dark wave from the era. The playlist spans the genre's full spectrum—from the experimental electronic edge of tracks like DAF's "Kebab Träume" to the synth-driven pop of Peter Schilling's "DIE WÜSTE LEBT"—capturing the inventive, sometimes provocative spirit of German 80s alternative music. It appeals to listeners seeking the authentic sound of NDW in its original context, rather than nostalgia alone.
