About tierra santa

Tierra Santa is a Spanish heavy metal band from La Rioja, Spain. The group was formed in 1991 under the name "Privacy" and changed its name to Tierra Santa, meaning "Holy Land," in 1997, reflecting their lyrics inspired by medieval themes. That same year, they released their debut album "Medieval" and toured as the opening act for Dio during the band’s Spanish tour. Alongside bands such as Mägo de Oz, Saratoga, and Avalanch, Tierra Santa became a prominent representative of Spanish-language heavy and power metal at the end of the 20th century. They are regarded as a key band within the broader Spanish metal scene, achieving recognition in both Spain and Latin America. In 2004, the band toured the United States for the first time.
