About Ricardo Miranda

Described as deeper than deep, Chicago native Ricardo Miranda has been bangin’ on the same drum machine since 1986. While his industry peers recite fond memories of The Music Box, The Bismark and other musical institutions – Ricardo sat in front of a boom box listening to Chicago’s famed radio station WBMX day & night. His music reflects an early Chicago House culture that goes beyond just sound or legendary stories. His sound reflects a cultured past that often is missing in todays music. Born in the distinctively Puerto Rican neighborhood of Lincoln Park Chicago, Ricardo was named after famous Nuyorican salsero Ricardo Ray of the 1960’s. After major Puerto Rican displacement (urban renewal) Ricardo’s parents settled in the Noble Square section of West Town for many years. Ricardo Miranda also records under the powerful genre specific personas of the Latin Soul Brothas, Yonurican, and Chiba. Noted label affiliations: Rush Hour, Noble Square, Jellybean Soul, Shines, Vega, Trippin, Hour House, Minuendo, Neroli, Reincarnation, Neroli, Itstillmusic, Quintessentials, Got Soul, Trackmode.
