About mindSpiral

mindSpiral is the name given to a series of electronic music collaborations beginning in 2005, headed by electronic musician Mike Metlay. Each mindSpiral group is given a unique number (for example, "mind1Spiral") and usually comes together for a single project such as a live concert or CD release. The first three projects constitute a trilogy of live albums, and subsequent releases have been internet downloads. mind1Spiral (John DuVal, Darwin Grosse, Giles Reaves, and Metlay) created the album The 1 Is Silent in 2005. mind2Spiral (Nick Rothwell, Paul Vnuk Jr., Greg Waltzer, and Metlay) created the album It's Come 2 This in 2006. mind3Spiral (Bill Fox, John Rossi III, and Metlay) created the album 3 To Get Ready in 2007 (release pending). mind4Spiral is a project that has been underway since 2007; details on personnel and eventual release have been kept secret. mind5Spiral (Darwin Grosse and Metlay) did several successful Internet broadcasts in 2006 and 2007 before spinning off into the new band wonderVu in 2008. mind6Spiral (Tim Walters and Metlay) created the album The Redundancy Of Suicide on the Just Not Normal netlabel in 2008. mind7Spiral (Giles Reaves and Metlay) performed live on the Internet in 2008; a release of the concert is forthcoming.
