About mandarinaduck
Shoegaze / Dreampop band from Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine. The band was formed in 2008 by brothers Anton and Serhii with their friend Sasha, after the collapse of Zaporizhzhia band Vincent Black Shadow. They thought that the experimental era in Zaporizhzhia's music is finished, and started to play simpler and faster music, with non-trivial melodic hooks as well as heavy use of guitar pedals. After year and a half, the name "mandarinaduck" came up, and in the same time they started to play live. Mandarinaduck performed a number of shows in Zaporizhzhia, then in Kyiv, Dnipro, Odesa, Simferopol, Poltava. In the august of 2011 they played two gigs with Kimberley from Sevastopol, and it was the beginning of their collaboration with Sevastopol-based independent label Prick.
