About DANGER DANGER
Danger Danger is an American hard rock band formed in Queens, New York, in 1986. The founding lineup included bassist Bruno Ravel, drummer Steve West, and initially lead vocalist Mike Pont, with guitarist Al Pitrelli and keyboardist Kasey Smith also part of the early formation. Mike Pont was replaced by Ted Poley, who had previously played drums and occasionally provided vocals for the band Prophet. The band recorded a demo that led to a contract with Epic Records. Al Pitrelli left the band in 1988, and later contributed to the compilation album "Rare Cuts". Tony Rey briefly joined the band in 1988 and played on part of their debut album before returning to his previous band. Andy Timmons replaced him and completed the recording of the self-titled debut album "Danger Danger", released in 1989. The album included the singles "Naughty Naughty" and "Bang Bang", with "Naughty Naughty" receiving airplay on MTV's "Headbangers Ball". The band toured with Kiss, Alice Cooper, Extreme, and Warrant. Their second album, "Screw It!", was released in 1991 and produced the singles "Monkey Business" and "I Still Think About You". After this tour, Kasey Smith left the band to form Shock with former drummer Michael Bellusci. In 1993, the band completed their third album, "Cockroach", but disputes with Poley led to his departure and legal issues that prevented its release. Paul Laine joined as the new lead vocalist and re-recorded the album's vocals. Epic Records ultimately shelved the album, and Andy Timmons left to pursue a solo career. Ravel and West formed Low Dice Records and released "Dawn" in 1995 with Laine, featuring a more introspective tone. Bassist Scott Brown joined for touring. The band released "Four the Hard Way" in 1997, with contributions from former members Andy Timmons and Kasey Smith. "The Return of the Great Gildersleeves" followed in 2000. In 2001, Danger Danger released "Cockroach" through Epic Records, presenting two versions of the album with vocals by Laine and Poley. In 2002, the song "Naughty Naughty Christmas" was featured in the film "The Santa Clause 2". "Rare Cuts", a compilation of unreleased tracks including early demos with Pitrelli, was released in 2003. Laine left the band in 2004, and Poley returned, though the live album "Live and Nude" was released in 2005 featuring Laine on vocals. In 2008, rock and roll comic C.C. Banana released a parody song titled "Ted Poley" on the album "Kiss My Ankh", inspired by Poley’s first encounter with Paul Stanley of Kiss. On September 19, 2009, Frontiers Records released "Revolve", featuring Poley as lead singer and new guitarist Rob Marcello. In 2014, the classic lineup of Ted Poley, Bruno Ravel, Steve West, Andy Timmons, and Kasey Smith reunited for a series of tour dates. Studio albums Danger Danger (1989) Screw It!
