About Ygdrassil

The group Ygdrassil consists of mainly two female lead singers, Linde Nijland and Annemarieke Coenders, two Dutch female singers - known for their beautiful, clear harmonies. Both their live-performances and recordings are compelling and pure. Ygdrassil belongs to the top of Dutch folk scene. They began to compose and make music in 1993 by winning the Dutch art- & music contest "Pop = prima". Since then five albums have been made. The latest album - Easy Sunrise. Since 2004 Ygdrassil is accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Bert Ridderbos. Both their own songs and the choice of covers (among those are 'Trees' with the song ‘The garden of Jane Delawney’, “Motorcycle Mama” of Neil Young and Sandy Denny's “The North Star Grassman And The Ravens”) are all very inspiring. In June 2007 they gave a goodbye concert and split up after forming a duo for 15 years. www.ygdrassil.nl
