ザアザア (Xaa‑Xaa, pronounced "zaa zaa") is a Japanese visual kei band from Osaka formed in 2014 by three former members of Belmosaic. The band made its formal live debut with a one-man on December 3rd at Shinsaibashi CLAPPER. Members: * Vocals: 一葵 (Kazuki) (ex-×≠batsu → Outlaw → BALLAD. → 6-sense → Belmosaic) * Guitar: 春 (Haru) (ex-6-sense → Schwarz-welt) * Bass & Chorus: 零夜 (Reiya) (ex-×≠batsu → Outlaw → BALLAD. → 6-sense → Belmosaic) * Drums & Chorus: 亞ん (An) (ex-youen naru en → houkaishita sekai → lAn → Soarr → Syokudai Kakkokai → ELEKTEL Shiki (support) → Dororo (support) → ELM → glamscure (support) → Rasen) Ex members: * Drums & Chorus: ロ弍 (Roji) (ex-GNz-WORD → Belmosaic (as Logic) → RevleZ (support)) History: 2014–2016: Formation and early years Xaa‑Xaa was formed in December 2014 in Osaka by three former Belmosaic members (Kazuki, Haru, Reiya) and Roji. Their formal one-man live debut took place on December 3, 2014 at Shinsaibashi CLAPPER. The band released their first maxi-single 「うそつき」 (Usotsuki) on 2014/12/01 and the live-distributed single 名も無き空へ (Namonaki Sora e) on 2014/12/03. In March 2015, they released the mini-album コワイクライ (Kowai Kurai), followed by live-distributed single ララララ (Lalalala) and mini-album どしゃ降りの彼女 (Doshaburi no Kanojo) in mid-2015. 2015–2016: Early releases and conceptual works They released several mini-albums and singles including 死にたい (Shinitai, 2015/09/01), 雪時計 (Yuki Tokei, 2015/11/01), re-recording of 「うそつき」 (2015/12/03), and maxi-single したいだけでしょ？ (Shitai Dake Desho?, 2016/02/23). Their best-of album 中毒症状 (Chuudoku Shoujou) came out in 2016/03/23, followed by the conceptual mini-album 雨に殺される (Ame ni Korosareru, 2016/05/25) and participation in the V.A. album 妖幻鏡 (Yougenkyou) -west- Vol.3. 2016–2019: Growth and member changes In 2016, the band released several conceptual maxi-singles: カミソリ (Kamisori), どす黒い (Dosuguroi), 余命 (Yomei), and the maxi-single アサガオが泣いてる (Asagao o naiteru). Their first studio album 不幸な迷路 (Fukou na Meiro) came out on 2017/03/15. In 2018–2019, they released maxi-singles のろいうた (Noroi uta), マザレナイ (Mazarenai), ラブレター (Loveletter), 死んじゃったポチの話 (Shinjatta Pochi no Hanashi), 破裂 (Haretsu), 水没 (Suibotsu), and mini-album みんながうた (Minna ga Uta). Their second best-of album 中毒症状～二～ (Chuudoku Shoujou ~ni~) was released on 2019/12/11. During this period, Roji left the band in 2017. 2020–Present: Recent work Releases include maxi-singles イライラする雨 (Ira-ira suru ame, 2020/02/05), ホラー (Horror, 2020/04/22), 明日晴れるといいな (Ashita Hareru to ii na, 2020/06/07), mini-album 愛「 」 (Ai「 」, 2020/09/23), 冷凍人間 (Reito Ningen, 2020/12/16), mini-album 五月病 (Gogatsubyo, 2021/05/05), 10月5日月曜日、バラバラ (Jyuugatsu itsuka getsuyoubi, barabara, 2021/08/19), and studio album 失敗作 (Shippaisaku, 2021/11/06). Musical style and influences: ザアザア is a visual kei band with dark, theatrical compositions and emotionally charged lyrics. Members cite influences from MUCC, hide, X Japan, Kuroyume, and LUNA SEA. The band’s lyrics often explore themes of existential struggle, melancholy, and personal reflection. About the members: Kazuki, Haru, and Reiya were formerly part of Belmosaic. Prior to Xaa‑Xaa, Kazuki and Reiya played in ×≠batsu, Outlaw, BALLAD., and 6-sense. Haru played in 6-sense and Schwarz-welt. An has been part of multiple acts including youen naru en, houkaishita sekai, lAn, Soarr, Syokudai Kakkokai, ELEKTEL Shiki (support), Dororo (support), ELM, glamscure (support), and Rasen. Roji, the former drummer, played in GNz-WORD, Belmosaic (as Logic), and RevleZ (support).
