About Violet District

Violet District was a progressive rockband formed in 1988 (as Incubus at the time, not to be mixed up with the rockband Incubus) in Germany. They released only one album, Terminal Breath. At first they released it on their own label, in 1992, before, in 2000, Tempus Fugit, a progrock-label, released the album. The band is clearly influenced by some major progbands, like Marillion, Pink Floyd, Jadis, IQ, Pallas and Pendragon. However, their album Terminal Breath shows the high potential of the band. The album is definitely worth to be listened to by all progressive and symphonic rock fans! The members of the band: Mischa Schleypen - vocals, keyboards Karlheinz Wallner - guitars, backing vocals Giselher Richter - keyboards Chris Postl - bass Christian Brenninger - drums Jürgen Lang - additional keyboards, backing vocals The band RPWL can be thought as a successor of Violet District: Karlheinz Wallner, Chris Postl and Jürgen Lang are members of RPWL. Also, Karlheinz Wallner and Jürgen Lang have a side project Blind Ego.
