About Vesuvius

Vesuvius is a fictional 80s hair metal/hard rock band from the movie 'The Rocker'. released in 2008. Their name is a reference to the volcano Mount Vesuvius, which is located besides Bay of Naples in Italy. To promote the movie, the song "Promised Land", as performed by Vesuvius, was released as free downloadable content for the video game 'Rock Band', which is shown being played in the movie. Musician/producer Chad Fischer, of the band Lazlo Bane, came up with the actual songs, and vocalist Keith England sang on them. The Vesuvius tracks "Promised Land" and "Pompeii Nights" were included in the well-received soundtrack album to the movie.
