About Varicella
Biography Formed in 2008 by main band member and Vocalist Chris Bollinger but went on break due to an every changing line up of people. They are now back and reformed in 2011. Uninspired by the current trend in today’s popular music and the local all synth / EBM based industrial scene. Varicella went in deep to bring back the roots of the old school 80’s style industrial of such acts like Ministry and Skinny Puppy. In early 2011 Chris met Tim Chandler who was also tired of the current scene as well. After passing though several guitarists, Chris Pasquarelli joined in early 2012, adding in that crushing metal guitar sound that such bands as Ministry would go on to popularize. Together they’re working to bring back the crushing heavy guitar element from acts like Ministry and KMFDM. Along with the older experimental anything goes attitude from acts like Skinny Puppy and Coil to today’s modern heavy dance beat industrial / EBM music.
