About Vait

VAIT is a German pop-rock band from Bad Aibling. The band, fronted by singer-songwriter Ralf Müller, plays pop/rock music with German lyrics. VAIT performs concerts both nationally and internationally, in both a classic singer-songwriter lineup (two guitars, two vocals) and with a full band. Ralf Müller began his career at the age of 14 as a solo project: After his electric guitar – he had previously played in the regional punk band "Faustschlag" – was stolen during a gig, Müller wrote his first songs as VAIT on his old acoustic guitar. The album "Wo ist zuhause" (Where is home) was self-produced in early 2011 and recorded in VAIT's home studio. In August 2011, Müller embarked on a European tour (France, Spain, Italy) and wanted to record an EP for the tour that would reflect the feeling of freedom while traveling. Ralf Müller started his career at the age of 14 as a solo project: After the electric guitar of the songwriter – who had previously played in the regional punk band "Faustschlag" – was stolen during a gig, Müller wrote his first songs as VAIT on his old acoustic guitar. The production of this CD was intended to retain the acoustic character of its predecessor, but with the addition of other instruments. While searching for a suitable recording studio, Müller came across producer, cover band musician, and guitarist Benedikt Dorn, who handled the production and has been a permanent member of the band since the EP "Freiheit oben drauf" (Freedom on Top). Paul Schmitz, who had previously played in rock 'n' roll bands in the region, played drums on the album. Schmitz was already well-known to the musicians through his long-standing musical activities in the district. Until mid-2012, Marinus Schmid played bass, but was replaced by Paul Schmitz's former bandmate, Stefan Strattner. VAIT finished work on their upcoming album "Ab hier kann ich allein" (From Here On I Can Go Alone) in early 2014, and it was released on April 4, 2014, via F.A.M.E. Artist Recordings GmbH / Sony Music Entertainment. In September 2015 (week 39), VAIT's song "Parkbank" was chosen as "Favorite of the Week" on the Bavarian radio show "Matthias Matuschik der andere Abend" (Matthias Matuschik's Other Evening). In November, they also performed at the CD release party for their album "Matuschkes Lieblinge Vol. 4 CD," on which they are also featured. On April 8, 2016, VAIT released the album "sei dank" (be grateful). On May 5, 2016, VAIT announced that drummer Paul Schmitz would be leaving the band. Since then, VAIT has been playing with various drummers. 2011: Wo ist Zuhause (Album) 2011: Freiheit oben drauf (EP) 2012: Zwischen Verbergen und Verstehen (Doppelalbum / Audiotoxin.com) 2012: Verkehrt (Single) 2014: Wenn wir wüssten (Single) 2014: Ab hier kann ich allein (Album) 2015: Parkbank (Single) 2016: Jetzt (Single) 2016: Sei dankbar (Album)
