About Uwade
Uwade (born Uwade Helen Akhere) is a Nigerian-born singer-songwriter currently based in New York City. After appearing on the Fleet Foxes album Shore in 2020 and graduating from Columbia University in 2021, she released her first single later that year titled The Man Who Sees Tomorrow / Lodarore. Following it up in 2022 with "Do You See The Light Around Me?". In April 2025 Uwade released her debut album, Florilegium, via Thirty Tigers - citing Fleet Foxes, Kate Bush, and Sister Rosetta Tharpe as influences.
