About Tricycle

There are several bands called Tricycle. 1. Tricycle was a late 60s psychedelic bubblegum pop group from Albany, NY, who released one self-titled LP, "Tricycle", in 1969 on ABC. The record was produced by bubblegum entrepreneurs Jerry Kasenetz and Jeff Katz. 2. Tricycle was called together in 2001 by the accordeonist/pianist Tuur Florizoone. The limited setting of this trio - accordeon, soprano saxophone and double bass - evokes creativity and imagination. The reseach of sounds and new possibilities on the instruments results in a very personal and organic way of playing their own original compositions, spiced with interaction and improvisation. Some people call it 'jazz', others say 'world' or 'imaginary'... the choice is up to the listener. Since the release of their first album "Orange for Tea" in December 2004 (guest vocals and lyrics on song "Kater" provided by Jessa Wildemeersch)they played many concerts in Belgium and elsewhere: Canada, Brasil, China, France, Germany ... A new CD titled "King Size" was out in November 2006 with 3 guests: Laurent Blondiau (trumpet), Stephan Pougin (percussions and drums)and Victor Da Costa (guitar).
