About Très Bien!

Très Bien! is a "beatle-esque power-pop" group from Clearwater, Florida. The members consist of Mikey B on lead vocals, keyboards, and guitar with Cody Wilson on bass and back up vocals, Michael James Crowe on lead guitar and harmonies, and Ryan Parker Metcalf on drums and harmonies. Crowe met Cody when he was supposed to fight him back in August 2001. They were the only ones that didn't want to fight, so they became friends. Two days later, Crowe goes over to Cody's and meets Mikey B! Cody and Mikey then formed Tocar La Guitara. This is also when Crowe started learning and playing guitar. In the middle of 2002 Mikey and Cody formed This Black Vegas, a short lived hardcore band with Mike Ristoff. The band soon split, with Cody wanting to play something more rock'n roll based. Mikey and Cody soon wrote future Très Bien songs, I Wouldn't Dare, The Goods and Got My Way. Crowe heard the songs and wanted to join, so he and Ryan "tried out" on the same day. The band's first name was Touring Maine and they mostly played with hardcore bands in the Clearwater/Tampa area. They were known for their highly entertaining live shows that were full of energy and crazy antics on stage. Four months after forming Touring Maine, they changed their name to Très Bien! In October 2003 they played a show at State Theatre in downtown St. Pete and released it as LIVE! at State. Very few copies were made and it is very rare to find one to this day. In November of 2004 they recorded their first full length in one day, ...Is Calling, at Panda Studios with Producer George Harris. July 2005 they joined good friends The Crayons on the Flori Dance Yr Ass Off tour up and down the east coast. The following month they toured with The Same on the Free the Scene tour, but Crowe was unable to play having Mikey B take over lead guitar and Très Bien! becoming a three piece for a short time. Soon they began recording their second full length, Captured in Colour, in Cody's garage-turned-studio. It included many of their hits and 5 new songs previously unreleased, including Easy to Love Me, Lethal Love, Two Tablespoons of Attitude and the instrumental Short But Sweet. It was mastered at MK Studios and features many improvements to their songwriting abilities as the four matured musically. Soon after their second release was finished they, again, went on tour. This time they made it all the way up to New York on March 30th 2006. The show turned out to be very successful and they returned to NYC again on June 14th for a showcase. Currently Très Bien has been recording singles and just got back from another tour up the east coast to New York City and back down to Florida. They have released many new singles and written new songs including, Bird In Rain, You Got Soul, My Sweet Darling and a Waltz.
