There are several artists named Tony Banks: 1. Anthony George Banks (born 27 March 1950) is an English musician best known as the keyboardist and founding member of the rock band Genesis. He is also a solo artist, having released six studio albums spanning progressive rock, pop, and classical music. Banks co-founded Genesis in 1967 while studying at Charterhouse. He served as the band’s keyboardist and was a principal songwriter and lyricist. Over his career with Genesis, he frequently used instruments such as the Hammond T-102 organ, Mellotron, ARP Pro Soloist, and Yamaha CP-70 piano, and in the band’s early years he also played acoustic guitar on some of their softer compositions. Banks was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Genesis in 2010. He was named one of the 27 greatest keyboard players of all time by MusicRadar in 2011 and was recognized as "Prog God" at the Progressive Music Awards in 2015.
