Tim Gaze & Rob Grosser Tim Gaze and Rob Grosser are well-known Australian musicians who have collaborated extensively on blues and rock projects, including with international rock legends. A guitarist, singer, and songwriter, Gaze has a long history in Australian bands, while Grosser is a drummer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. Collaborative projects The Hoochie Coochie Men: This blues rock band was formed by Gaze and Grosser in 2001, along with bassist Bob Daisley (formerly of Kahvas Jute, Ozzy Osbourne, and Rainbow). The band went on to record with Deep Purple's Jon Lord and released a live album, Live at the Basement, in 2003. River City Blues: Gaze and Grosser received a CHAIN award for Producer and Vocalist of the Year for their album River City Blues. The Blues Remedy: They released this album together in 2008. Better Days: In 2010, the duo released the album Better Days. Blue Sierra: They were also featured in the band Blue Sierra with Damian Kennedy. Tim Gaze Career and bands: Gaze has had a career spanning several decades, playing guitar, singing, and producing for many Australian bands. His extensive credits include Tamam Shud, Kahvas Jute, Ariel, and Rose Tattoo. Education and academic work: In 2020, Gaze received a doctorate in Creative Industries from QUT for his research on Australian popular music. His thesis, "Surf, sun, and sound: The role of surf music in the development of Australian popular culture," examined the iconic surf film Morning of the Earth. Session work and touring: Gaze is also an accomplished session musician who has toured with high-profile artists, including Jimmy Barnes. Rob Grosser Career and bands: As a drummer and producer, Grosser has played with numerous Australian bands, such as News, The Aliens, and Lucy DeSoto And The Handsome Devils. International collaborations: His impressive list of international collaborations includes working with members of Deep Purple, Whitesnake, and Muddy Waters. Recent work: Grosser continues to be active, releasing recent solo albums like Island Dreams in 2024 and Chapel Street in 2023. Tim and Rob are both well known Australian players who have performed and recorded with the who’s who of international musicians, and have won various music awards.
