About The Ploctones

THE PLOCTONES were founded in 2001 by Dutch guitarist Anton Goudsmit under the name "GOUDSMIT, TRUJILLO, VIERDAG & VINK" to perform a series of his compositions commissioned by Dutch NPS Radio. In 2004 former VPRO radio producer Rene de Rooij organised a live cd recording at the Jazz op het Dak festival, an event directed by De Rooij and featured on VPRO radio and television. GOUDSMIT, TRUJILLO, VIERDAG & VINK have emerged as a highly creative, innovative group combining grooves and improvisation. The band’s unique sound owes as much to Efraim Trujillo's sax, Jeroen Vierdag's bass and Martijn Vink's drums, as to Goudsmit's guitar. In 2010 "GOUDSMIT, TRUJILLO, VIERDAG & VINK" has changed their name in THE PLOCTONES
