About The Oxford Gargoyles
The Oxford Gargoyles - Oxford's only jazz a cappella group - was dreamt up in the lazy, Pimms-soaked Trinity Term of 1998, the lovechild of a passion for jazz and an excuse to cover up the potentially antisocial habit of breaking into song at the smallest encouragement. Although the repertoire remains rooted in their beloved jazz, the Gargoyles sing a fantastic range of music - from gospel to Latin to scrummy and fit, with arrangements coming from both within the group and outside. Basically, they are a bunch of singing nerds.
