There are two artists named The Northern Lights: 1) A chillwave/synthwave artist from Nashville 2) A hip-hop group 1) The Northern Lights is chillwave and synthwave producer Derek B. currently based in Nashville, Tennessee. 2) In February of 2010 The Northern Lights released their debut album, "Journey Through Your Mind's Eye" internationally on the iTunes Music Store and Amazon.com. Although their roots are in hip-hop, the group proves they're not afraid to explore new sounds nor bridge new genres on this record. Their debut is mature, diverse, and has already been praised by fans all over the country. TNL is currently finishing their second full-length album, due for release in fall of 2011. The Northern Lights is the musical product of original beats by guitarist and producer Kyle Lampert, deep rhymes from rapper Jason Majlessi (a.k.a. Jahizzi), and powerful melodies from singer Riki Lavi.
