The Mercy Seat is: 1) The Mercy Seat was an American "gospel-punk" group formed by guitarist/vocalist Gordon Gano (Violent Femmes), lead vocalist Zena Von Heppinstall, bassist Patrice Moran, and drummer Fernando Menendez (Orchid Thieves, Gordon Gano and The Ryans). They released their one self-titled album in 1987 and it was re-released digitally in 2009. 2) The Mercy Seat - No Leaf Clover (The Metal Opera) is a Czech project by Matěj Grunt of Mr. Scarecrow, founded in 2009.
