About The Invaderz
The Invaderz are a three-man drum & bass production outfit consisting of Matt Lord, Darrell James, and Leo Grant. Known for their uncompromising focus on hard-hitting drums and bass-driven energy, the trio have carved out a sound rooted in dancefloor functionality while maintaining a strong sense of musicality and emotional range. Emerging from the UK drum & bass scene, The Invaderz built their reputation through releases on some of the genre’s most respected labels, blending classic influences with a modern edge. Their style is often characterized by a balance between militant, aggressive rollers and more melodic, groove-led compositions, unified by a consistent emphasis on funk and soul. Rejecting sterile or trend-driven production, they prioritize authenticity and musical integrity, adhering to a “quality over quantity” philosophy. After a period of relative inactivity due to personal commitments and shifting interests within the scene, the group returned with renewed focus, culminating in their debut full-length album *New Found Dialect*. The project represents a comprehensive statement of their artistic identity, showcasing a wide spectrum of their sound while remaining firmly grounded in club-oriented drum & bass. Despite their hiatus, The Invaderz never fully stepped away from music, continuously writing and refining material behind the scenes. Their comeback reflects both a rekindled passion for the genre and a desire to contribute something meaningful and enduring to the drum & bass landscape.
