About The Dreadful Snakes

The Dreadful Snakes started when banjo virtuoso Bela Fleck wanted an informal bluegrass group to pick with when he was off the road. Besides Bela Fleck, members are dobro/lapsteel legend Jerry Douglas, fiddler Blaine Sprouse, guitarist Pat Enright, mandolinist Roland White, and bassist Mark Hembree. They caught on in Nashville, and in 1984 recorded Snakes Alive!, an album of first class bluegrass.
