About The Divided Line

Toronto-based band, The Divided Line, might be the next big thing in Canadian rock music. Inspired by the music of alternative metal bands, such as Tool and Incubus, Blair Barton (Guitar) began writing songs in 2009. His desire to make the project a reality soon saw the band grow to include longtime friend, Reza Shaffaf (Bass Guitar). It wasn't long until the band started creating a buzz both in and out of Toronto. Their captivating style had even caught the attention of major industry representatives from RoadRunner Records and Warner Music. In 2013 they recorded a 4-song EP with the fantastic vocalist Venn and engineer/producer Mike Langford. After a couple of releases and line-up changes, they recruited rock singer-songwriter, Kristine Bishop as their new vocalist. Her powerful vocals and stage presence brought a whole new edge and energy to The Divided Line's live performance. The band is now poised to enter the studio in July, and tour through southern Ontario this summer. Keep an eye out for shows and new music coming soon. Intense grooves. Atmospheric sounds. The Divided Line is a band that defies all boundaries, pushing their fans to their limits then back again. With their unique brand of progressive rock, the band delivers a melodic, hard-hitting sound, putting an innovative spin on the genre.
