About The Book Of Mormon Original Broadway Cast
The Book of Mormon is a religious satire musical with book, lyrics, and music by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez, and Matt Stone. The Book of Mormon follows two Mormon missionaries as they attempt to share their scriptures with the inhabitants of a remote Ugandan village. The earnest young men are challenged by the disinterest of the locals, who are occupied by more pressing troubles such as AIDS, famine, and oppression from a warlord. The Book of Mormon premiered on Broadway at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre on March 24, 2011, following previews since February 24. The production was originally headlined by Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells in the two leading roles.
