About The Basement Brats

The Basement Brats were formed in late 1990 by five young guys in the small town of Halden, Norway, fueled by a desire to play good rock'n'roll. There was none around at the time. After ridding the town of almost every trace of bad hair, bad pose heavy metal, it was time to call it a day in 1997. We left behind a collection of great songs and a lot of other great bands that followed us. A decade later, the state of rock'n'roll is again in trouble. There are several honourable exceptions, absolutely, but we sense a considerable threat from the return of guitar wanking 80s leftovers and something called "pop punk". It was time to return! At the "Made in Halden" festival in Oslo on Friday the 13th of April 2007, 11 years after we were last on a stage together, and 10 years after the break-up of the band itself, the classic line-up of the Basement Brats again, to remind the world what the pleasure of good, heart-pumping rock'n'roll is all about. And if you're not good, we may have to come back yet again! The Curse of the Brats continues...
