The Appalachians

About The Appalachians

There are at least two bands called The Appalachians. 1. The Appalachians were a British studio folk-rock group of the mid-1960s. They recorded just one single for Mercury Records: 'Look Away' b/w 'My Broken Heart' (July 1966). The single was also released in Turkey. 2. The Appalachians are also a garage rock band from Milwaukee, WI, United States. In 2012, The Appalachians embarked on a regional tour promoting their successful EP 'Long Wait, Slow Lines' which garnered the group onto the national stage performing multiple sets at Milwaukee's Summerfest, as well as an opening slot for Wisconsin superstars 'Phox'. Now, Milwaukee's fiercest garage-rockers 'The Appalachians' have returned in full-force with their first full-length self-titled album 'The Appalachians' (released August 5th, 2014). Filled with fuzzy guitar riffs, tight snare hits, and thumping bass lines, these 90's revivalists revisit Rock N' Roll's past in a straight-forward, minimalist fashion. While modernly charming-'The Appalachians' is a nostalgic remembrance offering its gratitude to the moon-lit clubs, and beer-soaked stages the band has become acquainted with over the years. This sophomoric effort also marks the debut for bassist Adam Plew, who joined the group in 2012. 'The Appalachians' offers 11 tracks pumping with adrenaline designed to assault your soul, but surely an enjoyable beating to take.
