About The Pleasures

The Pleasures are a five-piece glamrock band from Hamburg, Germany, born of a love for all things outrageous and gender-transcending. It was experiencing Ziggy Stardust and Velvet Goldmine for the first time in 2000 that prompted Dancette (vocals) to start working on a side-project, as the band he was in at the time was not glitzy enough by far. In 2004 he joined forces with Lord Vivian (vocals & guitar), it became much more than a side-project, and the first few The Pleasures songs were born. Shortly thereafter, the band acquired its all important bass player, drummer and second guitarist, all five now a tightly-knit crew who describe the band as pure life without limits. Priding themselves on their gregarious, trashy, between-gender image, they create infectious hardglamrock, oozing with addictive hooks, searing riffs and some face-melting vocals. The voices of Dancette & The Lord compliment each other radiantly, striking against the dramatic backdrop of thick, screeching, guitars and throbbing drums. Having built up a strong fan base in Germany, the band have their sights set on spreading the pleasure throughout Europe; first international shows had been successfully played
