About The Mystery Signal
Northern California electronic duo Evan Pontoriero(Gazing Into Space) and Daniel Slavin(lumanoid) have been making music together since 2008 after meeting in George Lucas' ILM Art Department, originally as the shoegaze/psych band The Silbeys. Slavin's New Wave/Post Punk roots and synthesizer background influenced Pontoriero to do more experimenting in modular and semi-modular synthesis and sampling. Their love of post-punk electronic, shoegaze and low-fi ambient combine in The Mystery Signal's take on ambient electronic and IDM as well as forays into avant-garde and anti-music.
