Terrorgruppe was a German punk rock band from Berlin-Kreuzberg, founded in February 1993. The band performed lyrics in German and their music is generally classified as fun-punk, sometimes referred to as 'punk pathetique' or 'pret-punk'. Their songs occasionally addressed social and political issues; for example, "Kinderwahnsinn" explores the concept of zero population growth, while "Neulich Nacht" discusses homosexuality and homophobia. Anti-right-wing extremism is another recurring theme in their work. Terrorgruppe was known for energetic live performances, often featuring on-stage gags and audience participation. They performed at the Chaostage festival in Hannover in 1995 and wrote the song "Wochenendticket" about that experience. The band initially disbanded in 2005 due to disagreements over future artistic direction. They reunited in 2013 following collaboration on the documentary DVD project "Sündige Säuglinge hinter Klostermauern zur Lust verdammt!". In January 2016, they released the album "Tiergarten" ("Zoo"), which featured a cover image taken by a macaque. This album became their first to enter the charts in Germany and Austria. Subsequent releases, including the live album "Superblechdose" (2017) and "Jenseits von Gut und Böse" (2020), also charted. "Jenseits von Gut und Böse" was intended as their final album, with a supporting tour initially planned for 2020. The tour was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and ultimately cancelled after four crew members tested positive in 2021. In 2022, Terrorgruppe conducted a short tour consisting of six concerts. Prior to this tour, bass player Zip Schlitzer passed away. The band’s final performance took place on 21 July 2022 at Huxleys Neue Welt in Berlin.
