About Sue the Night

Sue the Night is the stage moniker of Dutch artist Suus de Groot, who creates a sultry brand of indie pop with a singer-songwriter sensibility and an almost tangible feel-good vibe. She released three full-length albums thus far: Mosaic (2015), Wanderland (2017) and Susanne and the Sad Sunset Disco (2023). Sue the Night's recorded output led her to playing festivals such as Best Kept Secret, Paaspop, Indian Summer, Concert at Sea and Zwarte Cross in The Netherlands. Sue and here band were the 'house band' of Dutch TV show De Wereld Draait Door throughout the 2016-2017 season. Her single 'The World Below' became a favorite on one of Germany's biggest national radio stations, NDR. A tour in Germany ensued. Following the release of the EP Soft (2018) Sue's songs featured in the Japanese Netflix series, Terrace House. In 2019 Sue the Night had a sabbatical year. Sue dedicated her year to first-time parenting, nurturing and growing into motherhood. 2020 saw her returning writing and demo-ing new ideas, which ultimately led to Susanne and the Sad Sunset Disco, Sue the Night's October 2023 comeback album (of sorts).
