About Stoney Creek Bluegrass Band

"Mainstream Bluegrass At Its Best" (Bluegrass Unlimited) - with a music video in national rotation and past tour dates with Loretta Lynn, Doyle Lawson, the Grascals, Dailey & Vincent, and Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper. Stoney Creek has appeared twice at the Outer Banks Bluegrass Festival, where the band was joined onstage by “the Queen of Bluegrass” Rhonda Vincent for a gospel performance. Stoney Creek's "Are You Ready?" album gained the band airplay in over 200 radio markets and a music video in national rotation on BlueHighways TV. “Are You Ready?” was named “best gospel CD of the year” in 2012 by KCBL Bluegrass Backroads. The latest albums - “Are You Ready?”, “Hot Off the Press” and “Live In Concert” - have been featured on bluegrass radio across the United States, Canada, Europe, and Australia. Several singles from the band's albums have reached number one on AirPlay Direct's Bluegrass Singles chart and the “Hot Off the Press” album was a mainstay on the Roots Music Report Bluegrass charts for more than a year. This project and the band's increased visibility led to endorsement deals with Deering Banjos, Davis Mandolins and MBC Custom Straps. Stoney Creek was featured as “Artist of the Week” by Bluegrass Music Profiles magazine in May 2010. Stoney Creek has appeared on WAMU's Bluegrass Country with the late Tom “Cat” Reeder, including an in-studio live session in August 2010 to premiere “Hot Off the Press”, the premiere of the band's “Live In Concert” project in July 2011, and Reeder's final interview, an in-studio live set to premiere “Are You Ready?” in June 2012. In 2011, Stoney Creek was hailed as “mainstream bluegrass at its best” by Bluegrass Unlimited magazine. In 2013, the band was named “West Virginia's classic bluegrass band” by Around the Panhandle magazine. Stoney Creek includes Libby Files (bass and vocals), Brett Smeltzer (mandolin and vocals), Troy Stangle (banjo and vocals), and Kenton Catlett (guitar and vocals).
