About Stevie Vann
Stevie Vann Lange (aka Stevie Lange; Stevie Vann) is a singer. She was born as Stevie van Kerken in Mufulira, Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia). She sang backing vocals on the version of Def Leppard 's "When Love And Hate Collide" on their Vault compilation. Additionally, she has sung backup for Manfred Mann , Sweet , Colin Blunstone, Jim Capaldi, Trevor Rabin, UFO, Rick Wakeman, Crawler, The Comsat Angels, Gang of Four, Wham, Tears for Fears, Johnny Hates Jazz, Swing Out Sister, and Ray Charles. In the 1970s, she was married to record producer Robert "Mutt" Lange, record producer for AC/DC and Def Leppard. She and Lange attended school together, and also were in a band, Hocus. In the 1970s Vann had a backing group, Bones. In the late 1970s Vann met Chris Thompson when performing backing vocals for a Manfred Mann's Earth Band album. Thompson approached Vann to form a band, known as Night after Bones split. Night then later split in 1983 after two albums. Stevie is also known within industry circles for her delivery on ad campaigns such as "Trio" and "Bodyform" in the mid to late 1980s. In 1995, she recorded a self-titled album, produced by her ex-husband, "Mutt" Lange, who also sang background vocals. She also now provides Studio Production and Vocal Coaching for many acts, including Blue, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Robbie Williams, Atomic Kitten and KT Tunstall. www.stevielange.com
