Stefán Hilmarsson was born in Reykjavík in 1966. Stefán has been doing music more or less since 1986. He first sang with the band Sniglabandið but later mostly with Sálinni hans Jóns míns, which was formed in spring 1988. Among other bands that Stefán has worked with are Aðrar hljómsveitir sem Stefán hefur starfað með eru: Pláhnetan, Straumar, 2falda beatið, Milljónamæringarnir, Bjargvætturinn Laufey og Bóas. Stefán has made many records and also made music for movies. His band Sálin hans Jóns míns have recorded and published 12 albums. Stefán has also recorded 3 solo albums. Stefán is one of the most influential and popular music artist in Iceland.
