About Jan Stava
Jan Stava (1988) is a Czech bass singer. In spite of his young age, he already appeared as a soloist on the stage of the National Theater in Brno as well as with many ensembles and choirs. On his recordings he's been accompanied by Jitka Zejdova and Richard Pohl. He has won several important competitions, including Bohuslav Martinu Competition in Prague, Dusek Competition or the Prague Singer Contest. His talent was also recognized by famous tenor Jose Cura, awarding him with a special prize for the most gifted prodigy of his own masterclasses in Nancy. He performs extensively with a wide repertoire, ranging from the opera and art song to the operette, musicals, popular tunes and negro spirituals as well.
