Sounds of Imani is a contemporary gospel recording artist in Detroit, Michigan (USA) whose musical harmony brings joy, healing and inspiration to listeners of all ages. Imani is an African word meaning faith and this artist definitely lives up to its name. Sounds of Imani was formed in 1996 out of a vision to provide the music world with a distinct sound of excellence and quality musical expertise. Today, Sounds of Imani is still going strong. Gerald & Carol, the versatile husband and wife team (along with their band) thank God for longevity and total submission to Christian principles. What sets this dynamic artist apart from others is its own unique sound which includes many blends of music and originality. The music of Sounds of Imani is still going strong and was influenced throughout the years by various gospel music artists including Anointed, Helen Baylor, Walter Hawkins, & Israel Houghton to name a few; as well as secular artists such as Ashford and Simpson, Maze, Patti Austin, Minnie Ripperton, and Earth, Wind & Fire. Sounds of Imani has performed at the Anointed Faces Gospel Coffee House, 4th Fridays, Gifts For all God's Children, Northwestern High School's Annual Soul Day Extravanza, The Parade Company, American Cancer Society's Relay For Life, Bobby Jones Showcase in Detroit, Michigan State Fair, Upper Room, ABLA Reunion in Chicago, IL, Blackmon Enterprises Indie Artist Showcase in Los Angeles, CA, New Artist Showcase by CJ & Co. in Milwaukee, WI; various churches, shelters, prisons, correctional facilities and many other venues throughout Metro Detroit. The artist has also made an appearance on local WDIV TV 4 in Detroit. Sounds of Imani has two new singles entitled "Must Be an Angel" and "It's Alright" for release in European Territory scheduled for February 4, 2013! A previous 2002 CD project entitled "Revelation" presents such songs as "Fly Away", "My Redeemer", "Something Inside", "Thank You" and a smooth gospel jazz track entitled "Heaven's Light". Sounds of Imani is available for booking at gospel conferences, festivals, church events, musicals, stage plays, seminars, and wherever God presents open doorways.
