About Sophia

There are several artists named Sophia. 1. Sophia is a Swedish martial industrial project founded by Peter Bjärgö (born Peter Pettersson), also known for his work with "Arcana". The project combines martial and industrial rhythms with choral elements, neoclassical orchestration, and dark ambient soundscapes. It was initially conceived in 1998 as a side project, although early recordings were lost. The project resumed in 2000, leading to the release of the debut album "Aus Der Welt" in 2001. Early live performances featured Per Åhlund. Ia Bjärgö later joined the project, contributing to subsequent releases including "Herbstwerk", "Seduction of Madness", "Death, Dumb and Blind", and "Spite". After Ia Bjärgö’s departure, Stefan Eriksson collaborated with Peter Bjärgö on "Deconstruction of the World". The project was inactive for several years before resuming activity in 2010 with renewed collaboration between Bjärgö, Ia Bjärgö, and Åhlund. 2. Sophia is an indie band led by Robin Proper-Sheppard, former singer and guitarist of "The God Machine". The project emerged following the death of bassist Jimmy Fernandez. Collaborating with musicians associated with The Flower Shop Recordings, Proper-Sheppard developed a more acoustic and melancholic sound on early albums such as "Fixed Water" (1996) and "Infinite Circle" (1998). Later releases, including "People Are Like Seasons" (2004) and "Technology Won't Save Us" (2007), incorporated a more expansive and electric sound. The album "There Are No Goodbyes" was released in 2009. 3. Sophia (SOPHIA) is a Japanese visual kei band formed in 1994. The band achieved significant commercial success with a melodic, pop-oriented style and remained active until 2013. Their popularity contributed to the broader mainstream acceptance of visual kei acts, alongside contemporaries such as "SHAZNA" and "CASCADE". 4. Sophia was a post-hardcore and indie band from Nashville-Davidson, Tennessee, United States, formed in 2005. The band’s line-up included Steven Lefebvre (vocals), Austin Gros (guitar, vocals), Keith Richards (guitar, vocals), Bennett Piispanen (keyboards), Daniel Martinie (bass, vocals), and Ryan Meyer (drums). They released the EP "My Hands, My Greedy Hands" in 2006 and the album "My Morning; Migration" in 2008. The band also appeared on the compilation "Hearts Bleed Passion Vol. 2" (2007) before disbanding in 2008. 5. Sophia is a new age musician associated with Sequoia Records. Her work focuses on meditative and healing music, incorporating instruments such as zither, tamboura, dulcimer, percussion, and guitar. Her releases include "Chakra Healing Chants". 6. Sophia is an Australian singer who began performing at an early age, including appearances in competitions, theatre productions, and public events. Her musical style incorporates elements of hip hop, R&B, jazz, funk, soul, swing, and pop. She has collaborated with various producers in the Australian urban music scene. 7. Sophia is a pop punk band from Brazil. 8. Sophia is a German singer-songwriter.
