There are at least four bands named Shellshock / Shell Shock: (For the 80s Glam band, see Shel Shoc.) 1) A Japanese thrash metal band, formed in 1984, now disbanded. 2) Belgian Heavy Metal band from Ghent formed in 1987, very similar to Motörhead. Formed in 1987, their debut album was released in 1989, called Die For Allah 3) Shell Shock were one of the first hardcore bands in New Orleans, Louisiana. Formed in 1980. After original vocalist, Greg, left the band in 1988, they got Kirk Windstein (Crowbar, Down, Valume Nob) who also added a 2nd guitar to the band and they picked up a more of a thrash metal sound. 4) Shellshock was formed by 4 people wanting to push the boundaries of digital metal, mixing the dark twisted elements of drum n bass with the heavy, edgy metal style they had in their blood. Their live shows are very lively, and the audience become involved with the band throughout the show.
