About Sean Doherty

Sean Doherty is a singer songwriter from Annapolis, Maryland. Sean started seriously playing guitar at the age of twelve. During high school Sean would lock himself in his room for hours coming up with ideas for tunes. Following high school, Sean studied guitar for a year at Mercersburg Academy in Pennsylvania. "Mercersburg was great for my playing. They had this coffee shop on campus and I played there every Friday night for a year. Mercersburg had some big names come through like Howie Day and John Mayer so it was cool to be in a place like that." As time moved on he began playing live with his band Red Cabbage. "I love playing live with Red Cabbage. Timmy G and I have been playing together for a long time so whenever we get to play live it is a real treat." In the spring of 2005 Sean began work on his first solo record with the help of producer Noel White (Dashboard Confessional, Marcy Playground, Art Garfunkle). "Noel is great in the studio. He can take one of my song ideas and turn it into something that is just amazing." Released in late December of 2005 the album, Many Things, includes the songs "Many Things", "Blue", "Jimmy Lovell", "Dream World", "September Sixteen", as well as several on air radio performances.
