Saimaa is a Finnish post-progressive rock band formed in 2004 by Matti Mikkola. The band has released eight albums and the ninth one, Matka mielen ytimeen, vol. 2, will be released on May 15th, 2026. Saimaa plays progressive rock, with influences ranging from folk songs to movie soundtracks, latin music to psychedelia and 70s pop hits to electro. Typical features of the band's gigs include long jamming sessions and cover versions of songs by many well-known and lesser-known artists.
