About Stokely
Stokely- a local band from Pomona, California. Consisted of three members: Johnny D on bass, Marco L on guitar and Vox and Alex O on drums. Alex and Johny had been playing music for a while before they decided to start a band. Alex played in a band called Some Assembly Required and they invited Johny to sing for them at a battle of the bands and he agreed. Later they got a new singer and Johny was left out so they kicked out their original bassist and Johny took over. So little by little the guitarist left, then the singer, so it just left them with three members. Then they changed their name to A Tribute to None with Johny on vocals and bass, Alex on drums and Brandon W on guitar. They played many local shows around Pomona till they invited one of Brandon's friend's ( Marco ) over to one of their practices but he brought his guitar so they asked him to jam a song with them. They were blown away with his talent, so that they made a proposition for him to join them. He joined and with that the band played even more shows than before. They were doing great until their other guitarist ( Brandon ) started dragging them behind with non efficient equipment and constant drug binges. The band told him that they just had to let him go. So with him out of the picture the band changed their name once more and finally to Stokely. Since then they have been amazingly successful with shows, recording and all around relationship regarding the band. They are still currently experimenting with new styles.
