SOAS

About SOAS

"Soas" (Alone in Galician language) is the combination of two of the most inter national Galician artists of our time: pianist and bagpiper Cristina Pato and singer and cellist Rosa Cedrón. Both artists are strongly related to Galician music and both artists share a solid classical and academically career. The idea of blending traditional Galician music with classical music is the origin of the Soas Project.Feminity, sensuality, love and passion is the main topic of their first album together: Muller (Woman in Galician language) is the name of this amazing production. For Muller, Cristina and Rosa have selected some of the most significant traditional Galician songs: María Soliña, Unha noite na eira do trigo, Heicho de dar, and arranged them for voice, piano and orchestra. They have also included their own compositions in an album that is drawing two paths of complementary sensibilities: Soas, piano and voice and Soas with the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra, performing the arrangements commissioned to the Galician composer Octavio Vázquez. "Muller" is a pioneer experience in the world of traditional and contemporary music. The warm and quiet atmosphere of the album along with the impeccable style of these two wonderful artists already makes Muller an historical reference in Galician Music.
