Rudi Claase (born 11 January 1983 in Vereeniging, South Africa) is an Afrikaans singer and songwriter. He won the "Reik na die Sterre" competition twice and his solo album Thalita reached gold status. Claase lived in America for a few months to gain experience in the music industry before returning to South Africa. He wrote Tussen Woorde, one of Juanita du Plessis' hits, as well as Andriëtte Norman's ever-popular hit Sewe Oseane. He also wrote songs Rina Hugo, Sonja Herholdt, Theuns Jordaan, Manie Jackson, Patricia Lewis, Liesel Pieters and many more. In 2019 he received an honorary award from the ATKV for his contribution to Afrikaans music, 700 songs from his pen appeared in more than 2 million albums.
