About Royal City Riot

Royal City Riot formed on Long Island in November 2006, in the wake of the break up of The Vagabonds, and featuring members of Spider Nick & The Maddogs, The Homecoming Queens, and Kickboxing Fury. Their musical style is a blend of soul, reggae, and ska, creating a sound that is both authentic and unique while still paying homage to the genres' roots. Despite its young age, Royal City Riot has enjoyed support from a loyal fan base, and has shared the stage with such national acts as The Aggrolites, The Slackers, The English Beat, The Toasters, Bad Manners, The Pietasters, Big D and the Kids Table, Mustard Plug, and Westbound Train. They have also been a part of the Ska Weekend Festival '07 and '08 in Knoxville, TN and completed two U.S. tours in support of their debut album "Whatever You Please". Their second full-length, "Coast to Coast", will be released in November 2009. After a series of lineup changes, the band's roster currently consists of Jesse Litwa (lead vocals, guitar), Matthew Spitz (bass), Jared Kaplan (organ), Anthony Vito (drums), Jonathan Degen (saxophone), and Ray Mason (trombone).
