Rose Alaimo

About Rose Alaimo

Rose Alaimo is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer from Ithaca, NY. From her acoustic-based debut album "The Importance of Centers," the gritty & anthemic "Grow," and her most recent introspective concept album "A Place To Go When You Need To Hide," Rose's lyrics trend toward dreamy and existential, with a voice that has been most commonly referred to as "honest." Her albums are self-recorded and self-mixed in her home studio, with production advice from Tacoma-based mentor Jamie Hill. Musical influences include Daniel Johns and the later works of silverchair, and early-90s Achtung Baby era U2. Genres vary from gentle ballads like "Stars", the indie acoustic "Leaves", driving rock on "Elevate" and "Election Song", and distorted thrashy grunge on "Resist The Force". In addition to her solo work, Rose is a session musician and has been involved in collaborations with artists all over the world including Paris, Australia, LA, Alaska, and South Africa. Rose strives to make each musical project different from the last. She believes strongly in making albums to more fully explore ideas and has a special obsession with creating vocal harmonies. She is also a veterinarian and vegetable farmer.
