About Rodux
Rodux, otherwise know as Roderick Shoolbraid, has been an active member of the underground experimental scene for the last 15 years. Whether it be the ground breaking live electronic band Carrot Revolution, or the pioneering spoken-word work with Heather Haley, and Aural Heather, Roderick has provided excitement in his portrayal of sonic futurism. With his roots in Classical and Jazz training, it was the attitude, and compositions of the early electro-acoustic composers that inspired him. Since 1996, Roderick used prepared instruments and manipulated field recordings in his sound design for his work in film and music, that continues to the present. New and exciting sounds has been the mandate of his synthesis; and with this in mind, Rodux took his experimentation to the environment that embraced it - the dancefloor - creating a live P.A. act as well as holding DJ residencies in Vancouver. By designing his own effect processing plug-ins with Sonic Birth, Roderick has explored his unique and innovative production techniques, with his releases for Thoughtless Music: 'Electrolife', released in 2009 and 'Iron Fan' in 2010, as well as a remix of 'Steam'; Adam Jay & Angel Alanis Thoughless 040 release. Roderick remains on the west coast, splitting time between his home in the Gulf Islands and base of operations in Vancouver. He continues his ambitious work in film and music production, and is happy to announce that in 2010 a collection of ambient work will be released dating back to 2002
