About Rick DeVito

Rick DeVito (Erick Hogendorp, Saparua, Maluku, Indonesia, 26 februari 1954 – 26 juni 2018), was a Dutch singer-songwriter. Rick DeVito started his career as a front man for (Frozen) Frog. Their first album was called 'Be kind to animals, kiss a frog' (1982) and contained the almost hit: 'We got love'. After their debut Polydor dropped the band and without a new record deal they decided to say goodbye to their fans with a demo-tape: 'Document'. All songs on this tape were recorded live in the basement of a café in Rotterdam. Boni Records (a small company) was interested an decided to release this album. Especially for the German market a third album was released by Metronome: 'Capricorn' by Rickey & The Frog. After the third album Rick DeVito started a solo-career, releasing 5 albums. At the end of 2007 he moved to Ibiza, where he had a small café near Sant Antoni. On February 26, 2009 DeVito released his 6th album: 'Document II: recordings from the road 1983-2008'. This album contains live recordings from the past 25 years and two brand new studio-recordings: 'She walks in beauty (Angel)' and the Rick DeVito/Greg Smith-song 'Come along'. Rick DeVito died in 2018 in Ibiza, Spain.
